SITE Selector™’s Digital RFP – Changing the Game

  • 27 Mar 2020

Since launching, the SITE Selector™ Marketplace has been progressing at a steady pace. In February, the first communities were automatically notified of “Matched” projects listed on the Marketplace.

Projects were “Matched” to communities based on data collected during the vetting process along with a variety of additional resources. In fact, SITE Selector™ typically analyzes 55 key variables when assessing project/community fit.

EDO Community Response

The response from Economic Development Organizations (EDOs) has been overwhelmingly positive. Eighty percent of the communities that were identified by SITE Selector™ as “Matches” actually requested the Digital RFP. One unexpected result was the number of EDO respondents who shared the RFP with their colleagues.

Process

The EDOs we surveyed truly appreciated how simple the whole process is. The Digital RFP is clean, simple and user-friendly. If you can use Facebook or LinkedIn, you’ll have no problem navigating through the RFP. The RFP is organized into nine sections where information is collected and saved. One key benefit of the Digital RFP is the ability for communities to grant administrative access to their partners (utility companies, state or regional EDOs, etc.). This feature allows EDOs to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders efficiently by eliminating redundant manual data entry.

Dashboard

Of all the incredible feedback we’ve received from EDOs using SITE Selector™, there is one feature that is clearly the most appreciated. That feature is the EDO Dashboard. Today many EDOs find themselves on the receiving end of a seemingly never-ending stream of urgent RFIs and RFPs with almost impossible deadlines. What is more frustrating than collecting and submitting the same information over and over again is not knowing what the status of project is after all the effort has been made to submit. Was the project cancelled?  Has their site been eliminated? Have they been shortlisted? With the EDO Dashboard, communities will finally know where they stand in real-time. As companies eliminate, shortlist or request additional information, EDOs are instantly informed.
